Sidelines sports bar ii in downtown hollywood scores touchdown with patrons

Sidelines Sports Bar II, a new establishment in Downtown Hollywood, is a sports lover’s paradise.

Inside the 6,000-square-foot full-service bar and restaurant on 1832 Harrison St., patrons can catch a variety of live-stream sports across twenty-six state-of-the-art 65-inch high-definition screens, shoot some pool, and enjoy food and beverages served by friendly staff in black-and-white striped referee shirts.

Sidelines Sports Bar II co-owners and longtime good friends, Laurie Whittaker and David Feinberg, are a winning team.

Whittaker, a former waitress and bartender, is an attorney with over 30 years of experience owning and operating several successful businesses, including the original Sidelines Sports Bar that operated in Wilton Manors from 2006 to 2015.

Feinberg has more than 25 years of management experience in the financial services and hospitality industries. He serves as the general manager of Sidelines Sports Bar II, a position he also held at the original Sidelines.

“The old customers are coming in,” said Feinberg. “They love the place, and they’re happy that we serve food, which we didn’t have in Wilton Manors.”

“Sidelines is a great new addition to Downtown Hollywood,” said Todd Delmay, president of The Hollywood LGBTQ+ Council. “Our members are confident that Downtown Hollywood will attract more new investment by elevating the voices, perspectives, and presence of LGBTQ+ people and their businesses.”

Whittaker and Feinberg included some of their own recipes on Sidelines II’s extensive menu, which features items with fun sports-theme names and categories to match!

Forget appetizers, the ‘Pregame’ selections, including Rugby Skins (loaded baked potato halves, $8) and the Kick Off Egg Roll ($9), are a must have before any game. In the ‘It’s a Wrap’ section, sandwich choices include the Knockout Chicken Caesar ($10.25) and Face Off Portobello ($9.50).

Under the ‘2nd Quarter’, options include The Tampa Bay Shuffle ($12.50), an 8-oz. burger with bacon, avocado, fried eggs and bleu cheese. The Primetime Prime Rib ($26 8 oz., $29 12 oz.) is a Main Event standout. There’s also a Little League menu for kids.

Sunday brunch, served from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm, offers a choice of waffles with chicken strips, French toast, omelettes, scrambled eggs, or eggs Benedict for $14.95 with an upcharge option totaling $22.95 for unlimited mimosas or $25.95 for unlimited Bloody Marys.

“Everything is fresh and made on site,” Feinberg said. “We also pride ourselves on customer service and cleanliness.”

Specials at Sidelines II include ‘In the Biz Night on Mondays’ (half-price beverages with ID and proof of employment), ‘Twisted Taco Wednesday’ (3 chicken tacos for $6, 3 mahi for $7, 3 beef for $8) and ‘Grab Some Balls Thursday’ (open pool all day and half-price cocktails till 8 pm).

Feinberg and Whittaker, proud Hollywood residents, found just the right location for Sidelines Sports Bar II in the historic downtown arts, music, and entertainment district.

“We like the fact that Hollywood is growing and things are changing, especially with all the redevelopment,” Feinberg said.
