A group of SECME students from the Hollywood Academy of Arts and Science participated in the SECME-STEM Olympiad. The competition included students from all over South Florida.
Competitions including water rockets, bionic hand, mousetrap car, bridging building, robotics, FPL generators and other fun activities.
“The students enjoyed being a part of this event,” said Carissa Brazel, a teacher at the Academy.
Melissa Ramos, an Academy student participated in the water rocket event. The students worked on building the rockets and then launched them on a field.
Martin Gonzalez, an Academy student participated in the bionic hand event. He enjoyed the opportunity to work on developing the hand and participating in the competition.
Students from South Broward High School participated in the competition. Derod Deal competed in the FPL generator event. He liked the opportunity to work on this project.
Alex Yaskov and Galileah Harmon, South Broward students participated in the bionic hand competition. “This was a good event and we enjoyed being a part of it,” said Yaskov.
