South Broward defeated St. Thomas in a regional playoff game this past Saturday. Unfortunately, they lost the game on Valentine’s Day against Forest Hill High in West Palm Beach, which took them out of the running for the state championships.
They had previously lost to St. Thomas in the district championship game. Under the state playoff rules, the top two teams from each district advance to the regional playoffs and so both South Broward and St. Thomas advanced. South Broward defeated Reagan in the first game of the regional playoff and so ended up facing St. Thomas again. And this time they won the game. Regardless of how well South Broward did in the playoffs, this was a significant win because St. Thomas has one of the strongest soccer teams in the nation.
Kudos to the South Broward Boys Soccer Team for a great season.
