The South Broward High School wrestling team is doing well this season. The Bulldogs wrestling team recently finished second in the District 2A-15 Wrestling Championships at South Broward.
Coach Randy Qualitza was pleased with the performance of the team. “We have some good athletes on our team and we did well in the tournament. We have three wrestlers who could qualify for the state championships,” he said.
Anthony Montanez took first place in the 113 pound weight class. “I want to go to the state meet. You have to be mentally tough to do well in wrestling,” he said.
Marlo Garcia won the 138 pound weight class. “The most important thing in wrestling is to never give up,” he said.
Justin Maynard won the 152 pound weight class. “It takes a lot of hard work to do well. You have to train hard,” he said.
