The South Broward High School Girls basketball team is off to a rocky first half of their 2017 season amassing three wins and five losses so far.
Last year the Bulldogs finished second in the state championship. But losing eight strong seniors who’ve moved on to play college basketball will make it difficult for the team to qualify for this year’s tournament.
Co-head coach Sharlene Ferguson is still optimistic and believes the team can have a good season. She believes the strongest competition in the district will come from Nova High School who they’ll play January, 16 with a home court advantage.
Top players on this year’s team include Dontasia Simpson at guard and forward; Trinity March at forward; Kamani Jones at guard and Janice Brown at center.
The Bulldogs have a home non-conference game vs. Dillard (Fort Lauderdale, FL) on Tuesday, December, 12 at 6 p.m.
