South Broward High School Marching Band Gets Ready For Season

The South Broward High School Marching Band is getting ready for the upcoming marching season. The band will perform at football games and will attend various competitions including one at Flanagan High School and one at Cypress Bay High School.

The band has a new director, Ricardo Esquilin. It includes about 75 members in the marching band. The band members just completed a demanding band camp and performed at the Tamara James Day – Progress in the Park event.

“Our members worked very hard during band camp. They completed 50 hours of training in five days. My goal is to have every member of the band go to a four-year college. We are like a family,” said Esquilin.

Ralph Elisson, the drum major, and a trumpet player love being in the band. “I have had many good learning experiences in the band. I enjoy being in this band,” he said.
