There will be plenty of treats in store for Halloween revelers of all ages at Hollyweird Halloween, a free block party in Downtown Hollywood featuring live music, a costume contest, children’s activities and more from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sat., Oct. 31.
The festivities will include three live bands, outdoor bars, $10,000 in costume contest prizes, a dance party for kids, candy, playground activities, photobooth, Magic Jack magic show and Strawberry the Clown along Hollywood Boulevard between 19th and 20th avenues.
Hollyweird Halloween is produced by the New Hibernians of Hollywood, which has presented the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival with the City of Hollywood for the past 15 years.
“This year in partnership with the Hollywood CRA, we are delighted to introduce the inaugural Halloween block party event – Hollyweird – to the downtown,” said Mark Rowe, a member of the New Hibernians of Hollywood and the owner of Mickey Byrne’s Irish Pub. “We hope that it provides as much enjoyment to young and old alike as our St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Festival has through the years.”
During Hollyweird Halloween, Hollywood Boulevard will be closed to vehicular traffic between 19th and 20th avenues. For more information, visit www.VisitHollywoodFL.org/events.
