Young people preparing for standardized tests often struggle learning test-taking skills necessary for success on tests like the ACT and SAT. High school students can also find the prospect of going to college to be daunting.

Young people living near the Stirling Road Library now have access to a resource that will make this process a little easier. The Friends of the Stirling Road Library has collaborated with Sanderson Test Prep to offer four free ACT/New SAT preparation sessions for high school students on August 1, 5, 8 and 12 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Friends of the Stirling Road Library are also providing participants a free lunch prior to the sessions.

“This is a great opportunity for students in our area to benefit from professional guidance on preparing for these college-entry exams” said Hannah Hostyk, Co-President of the Friends of The Stirling Road Library. “We are indebted to Chris Sanderson, founder of Sanderson Test Prep, for providing these sessions at no cost to the students.”

Two free college seminars for students and parents will also be presented at the Stirling Road Library. The well-regarded college consulting group, International College Counselors, will be there for prospective college students on Thursday, July 28 and Thursday, August 18 at 6:30 p.m.

“This is another example of how our friends group is reaching out to enhance our support of our community, especially our young people,” said Fern Canter, a member of the Friends of the Stirling Road Library Board of Directors.
