Members of the Hollywood Youth Ambassadors were honored during a recent commission meeting. The program grants high achieving high school students the opportunity to spend time with a Hollywood Commissioner and leaders in the city government. Vice Mayor and head of the Youth Ambassadors program, Traci Callari, praised the efforts of the young people.
Through a shadowing process, Youth Ambassadors get a close up view on local government procedures. They also participate in various projects and activities.
During the meeting, the high school seniors were given an opportunity to share their experiences. They presented their views on the program, explained what they’ve learned, and showcased their burgeoning confidence.
Jasmine Sanchez, a student at South Broward High School said, “I have enjoyed learning about government and spending time with local leaders.”
