The Grand Floridian christened Oct. 8 at Diplomat Landing

Hollywood’s business leaders came together Thursday, October 8 for a Sail-ebration party at the Diplomat Resort and Spa to celebrate the christening of The Grand Floridian.

Ed Walls, general manager of the Diplomat said he was pleased with the partnership with Charter One Yachts and said that this will mean more opportunities for special events. “This yacht will be good for organizations looking for a unique experience for corporate conventions, meetings or holiday celebrations.”

The yacht includes four levels and can hold up to 550 people. It is 128 feet long and includes three balconies with the top deck offering an open air experience. The Grand Floridian has a full galley and all the necessary technology to give high quality multi-media presentations.

Matt Talchik, president of Charter One Yachts is pleased to add this new and large yacht to his company. “This will be an excellent place for corporate events and special occasions,” he said.

Christine Roberts, a vice president for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau enjoye d the event and believes The Grand Floridian will be a tremendous asset to the area.

After the christening, guests could enjoy a dinner and music provided by the Gary King Band on a one hour cruise on The Grand Floridian.
