Hollywood locals Chinara and Teth Milligan are a motivation for skeptics everywhere. Their tale defies those who believe that doing everything jointly is a formula for marital catastrophe.
At Broward College, Chinara Milligan serves as the executive aide and enrollment coordinator at the Honors College — she oversees all aspects related to admissions and graduation. Her spouse Teth Milligan is employed in facilities where he oversees inventory, planning, and maintenance duties.
Being colleagues is just the starting point for their collective experiences. This year, Chinara and Teth both completed their BAS degrees in Supervision and Management. They commenced their academic odyssey together in 2010 by securing their associate degrees. Currently, they intend to pursue postgraduate degrees collectively.
A typical day in the Milligans’ life commences at 5 am and concludes at midnight as they labor, study, and raise their two children. They mention that they spurred each other on to achieve so much and could not have accomplished it without one another. Their eldest son is currently attending FSU and is extremely proud of his parents; naturally, he returned home to witness their graduation.
“My spouse Teth and I have been smitten for nearly 15 years and have been wedded since 2006,” Chinara stated. “We crossed paths and bonded as friends in middle school but our love blossomed years later. Both of us have been working at Broward College since 2007. Our Broward College family has been exceptionally supportive and motivating. It’s truly a privilege to collaborate with so many individuals who root for your success.
“When I made the choice to return to school, I doubted my ability to do it independently so I invited my spouse to accompany me because he is my closest companion,” she added. “I am grateful that he accepted. There is no one else I would have preferred to share this journey with.”
The Milligans substantiate that sometimes the optimal approach to staying on the correct route in life and in love is to traverse it together.
