Woodstock 2018 Event to Raise Funds for Mental Health Programs for Shooting Survivors

Looking for a groovy way to give back? Then, get out your bell-bottoms and head on over to the ’60s-themed Woodstock 2018 fundraiser for Parkland Cares.2

Four the past four years, Hollywood-based music and entertainment producer Scott Evans has celebrated his birthday by doing what he does best: bringing the community together for fun and philanthropy.  This year, the fourth annual Scott Evans charity birthday party will be held at the Hollybrook Golf and Tennis Club Playhouse in Pembroke Pines on July 28.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to Parkland Cares, a local organization whose mission is to provide funding for mental health counseling and programs for shooting survivors, their families and the community-at-large in Parkland.

Festivities include dinner and a show, live 1960s music performed by the Sweet Tarts, a costume contest, dancing, raffles, drinks, craft vendors, and a cash bar– all inspired by the legendary 1969 music festival.

Broward County District Three Commissioner Michael Udine, who represents Parkland, will be the guest speaker.

Evans said he can’t imagine what shooting survivors must be going through, speaking about his motivation for choosing the event’s cause.  “I like to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves,” said Evans. “I just want to be a participant in the community.” And what better way than by bringing people together for a party with a purpose?

Doors open at 6:30 p.m; showtime is 8:30 p.m. All ages are welcome. Tickets start at $30 at www.pwp72818.eventbrite.com
