Leadership Broward Foundation (LBF) is accepting applications for the 2015 Youth Leadership Broward Class. Deadline for submitting an application is April 2.
Applicants must be Broward County high school sophomores or home-schooled equivalent with at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. LBF will accept 55 students throughout Broward County.
Now in its 28th year, Youth Leadership Broward is a nine-month program from August through April of a student’s junior year. The program provides an opportunity for students to gain real-life experiences through interactions with community leaders from businesses, government agencies and civic organizations; develop essential leadership skills such as team building, conflict resolution, time management, public speaking and goal setting; and impact the community through a service project.
Criteria for selection includes demonstrated leadership ability in activities such as student council, athletics and service clubs in their schools and communities as well as an exhibited commitment to community service and extra-curricular activities. Participants also are considered on the basis of geographic, racial and cultural diversity.
